Heritage Speakers 101: What is a heritage speaker and which class should they be in?

This free bite-sized course is for world language teachers, ESL teachers, and counselors who are working with heritage learners who want to take a language class in their heritage language.

• understand the difference between a heritage learner, native speaker and L2 learner.
• decide if the current class placement is appropriate for each heritage learner.
• describe ways that you can advocate for heritage students at your school.
