This professional development course is designed for teachers who want to improve their communication skills when working with parents who may resist changing their behavior or beliefs. Participants will learn the basics of motivational interviewing, the rolling with resistance technique, and how to apply these skills to create more productive dialogues with parents.
Through interactive lectures, case studies, and role-playing exercises, participants will develop practical skills and strategies for engaging with parents, building rapport, and empowering them to take ownership of the change process. Participants will also learn how to use motivational interviewing techniques to promote positive outcomes for both the parent and the students.
