This workshop is for elementary teachers who teach science to their students. In the workshop, teachers will learn about STEM DAYs and how to develop and implement them. A STEM DAY is an entire day dedicated to science learning with aspects of math, technology, and engineering included. Having one science lesson a week that is 45 minutes doe snot give your students enough time to understand and love science but giving them an ENTIRE day will! Implementing a STEM DAY into your class routine will make you spend less time planning and gathering resources for science lessons. In addition, implementing STEM DAYs will provide your students with hands-on learning experiences in science that will get them excited about STEM and introduce them to the possibility of a STEM-related career.
Elementary teachers will create engaging, hands-on, and meaningful learning experiences in science by developing and implementing STEM DAYs. As a result, they will increase student engagement and learning outcomes across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

My passion for STEM learning in schools started when I saw a lack of excitement during science lessons among students. Wanting to get students eager about the possibility of pursuing a career in a STEM-related field, I worked to implement a STEM DAY at my school, and student engagement skyrocketed. I have been implementing STEM DAYs for four years now with rigorous lessons with hands-on experiences that get students excited about learning.
With over nine years of teaching experience and six years of leadership in schools, I am a motivated teacher looking to help other teachers improve their teaching practice.
