Created specifically for grade 6-12 teachers working with students below grade level (intervention, algebra repeater, special education math teachers, etc.), this session will showcase four low and no prep engagement activity structures you can use with any math content in any classroom setting (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) to increase engagement of your students who struggle with mathematics. These strategies will get all students talking and participating in your class and finally put an end to those disheartening blank stares.
Secondary math teachers will learn strategies to stop the crickets and demonstrate multiple low and no prep engagement activity structures you can use with any math content in any classroom setting (in-person, virtual, or hybrid) to increase engagement of your students who struggle with mathematics.
Juliana Tapper has taught high school math intervention and Algebra 1 at high schools in South Central LA, East San Jose, and Denver and witnessed these engagement strategies transform her classroom first hand. She now coaches teachers on using these same strategies and attain the same incredible success in thousands of classrooms nationwide.
